an Activity Book for Environmental Justice
Seeds For Change is a youth based activity/coloring book that explores environmental justice. Using illustrations that build on the seventeen principles of environmental justice set by the First National People of Color Environmental Leadership Summit, it encourages youth to think creatively and critically about their own environmental rights. This book is made in resistance to the unethical and unsustainable activities that are taking advantage of neighborhoods in Baltimore. The book is meant to help the reader define what environmental justice means to them, why it matters, and what to do in its absence.
Thirteen local Baltimore artists helped to illustrate each coloring page. Additionally, a set of activity pages invites the reader to think more about each principles. Lastly, a comprehensive Baltimore resource guide is included, acting as a means for parents and educators to become involved in conversations around environmental justice and will outline resources available to help address local environmental issues.
