Teaching

I served as a teaching artist for the Baltimore United Viewfinders in their after school program for middle schoolers. Through the use of project-based curricula, students learned the fundamentals of art while also gaining a better understanding of themselves and their community.

Notable projects included: Campaign for Change where students learned to advocate for an issue important to them, Home is where we explored the different meanings of home, and Becoming where we investigated how we  become the people we want to be.

I have worked as Summer Camp Art Instructor at various camps, including Strokes Day Camp in Roswell, GA. Each day, I lead campers through a fun and novel art lesson. We were also tasked with creating one "mural" or large scale painting on canvas each week. At the end of the week, we hung our work in the gallery for parents to view.

Despite limited time with the campers, I prioritized teaching relevant art techniques paired with important life lessons about being a human in the world.
